Yesterday myself and the lads embarked on a little journey to Oranmore Co Galway for a tour of the “Galway Bay Brewery”!!!

Considering that we couldn’t travel anywhere unfortunately due to Covid 19 restrictions it really was a breath of fresh air to be able to do it again. Now I’m not a craft beer nut by all accounts but it was lovely to get chatting to head brewer Tom (who has been there since the beginning) and Simon and Paul, three great lads who know their stuff and well up for the craic π

not going to get into everything because I’ll be here typing all friggin night but as well as a tour of the brewery we also had the pleasure sampling a few of the Galway Bay beers as well as Tom’s side baby “Land and Labour” beers!! Some of which are in barrels ageing the last four years and some absolute quality stuff.

We ended by doing a Q&A with the lads (keep an eye out for mother mac’s podcast π) and I had the pleasure of supping on a 12% imperial stout which I’m not going to lie, by the time I got back to limerick it nearly blew the bollocks off me nevermind my head πππ sure I even had to go home for a disco nap in fear that I’d start howling at my own reflection π anyway it was a great experience and educational at that, these lads are very passionate about their craft beers and it shows (just look at the way they polish the floor tiles π).

Lovely to meet the crew of Galway Bay Brewery and I look forward to the next outing π
